Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Thani, who recently purchased Malaga FC has unveiled his intention to build a second Puerto Banus style complex in Marbella’s Bajadilla marina.
The project would require an investment of 70 million euros and include the expansion of the marina with 400 additional moorings for small and medium-sized yachts.
According to various reports in local press, the Sheikh had initially intended to buy Puerto Banus but lost interest due to the lack of expansion potential.
Miguel Gomez, the President of the Tourist Initiative Center in Marbella has stated that other Arab investors have an interest in Marbella and the Costa del Sol given that they feel it is a safe place to invest.
The Sheikh also met with the President of the Andalucian government, José Antonio Griñán where he presented the President with his investment projects and intentions. Abdullah Al-Thani was accompanied to the Casa Rosa (Pink House) by three of his collaborators, including Abdullah Ghubn and José Rodriguez de la Borbolla.
