STALLONE, SNIPES, SCORSESE ADVISOR PLEADS GUILTY TO FRAUD - Hollywood Celebrity and Entertainment Daily News: "financial adviser who was trusted by Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes and Martin Scorsese to handle their financial investments pleaded guilty Friday to charges ranging from defrauding clients that included many elderly of perhaps $50 million.
Well-known and respected Kenneth Starr (not the one with the Clinton impeachment), was charged with wire fraud, money laundering and investment adviser fraud, telling a Manhattan judge that he had been doing bad things since 2005. Starr’s (tricky?) lawyer said it was merely a “colossal error in judgment,” reminding the magistrate of all the good that her client has done (The old ‘kindly non-smoking, vegetarian German chancellor of mid-last century, who loved his dog Wolf’ defense).
The sentence guidelines call for ten years in the joint, which means 5 years if he doesn’t join the Mafia and kill too many while jailed. Starr was also granted a request for an alternate sentence, which might well mean that he gets assigned to the dreaded island of Bora Bora where he must suffer the tortures of heaven."
