"COLIN FIRTH walked away with the jewel in the crown at the 2011 Oscar ceremony.
The British star won the Best Actor award for his portrayal of stammering monarch King George VI in The King's Speech.
And the movie bagged a total of four gongs, including Best Director for TOM HOOPER, Best Original Screenplay for DAVID SEIDLER and Best Film.
The normally composed Colin was close to tears as he delivered his own, typically witty speech, which you can see in the video below.
He said: 'I have a feeling my career has just peaked."
