A builder who is facing charges of bribery and money laundering as part of the Malaya corruption case, has demanded 8.5 million € from Marbella Town Hall for incomplete building works in three real estate projects.
Granada builder José Ávila Rojas is one of the 95 accused in the Malaya case and is claiming the money for real estate deals approved by Marbella Town Hall which finally have not happened.
The projects are La Tinidad in San Pedro Alcántara, the Hotel Bahía Golf and Crucero Banús, and Ávila Rojas claims he has been a victim of prejudice when the licences previously issued by the Marbella Town Hall were declared null.
The prosecutor is claiming 10 years in prison for the builder and a fine of 55 million €.
