ACCORDING to the Spanish Society for Family and Community Medicine, some 11,000 elderly people in Malaga suffer abuse and neglect. Most of them are abused by relatives within their home and fail to report the aggression because they are afraid of being left alone. In many cases, the neglect is not intentional.
