Social Welfare Minister, Micaela Navarro, appealed to judges to make better use of electronic bracelets against domestic abuse which could prevent the deaths of many women in danger from their partners. According to the councillor, there are some 3,000 bracelets available in Spain, and only 300 are being used. The bracelets can detect if the attacker is within one kilometre of the victim and begins to emit a sound if he approaches, giving the victim time to call the police.
